The Miami Chapter was established in 1992, and is currently led by Volunteer Regional Director Alicia Bolanos.
This was the first volunteer Chapter to begin grassroots efforts of raising funds and awareness for The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. The Chapter has hosted many events including wine tastings, happy hours, walk & roll a thon and the signature annual Block Party.
The Miami Chapter hosted 350 guests at its signature street party, 9th Annual Block Party, presented by Hillstone Coral Gables on Saturday evening, January 13, in the heart of downtown Coral Gables. The event featured grilled delights from Hillstone, South Florida’s finest craft beer, desserts, live music by Spill the Wine and a DJ, an auction, and NBC6 Anchor Roxanne Vargas as our emcee. Proceeds benefit the spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury research at The Miami Project. View our photo gallery.
In an effort to enhance the research efforts of the scientists at The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, The Buoniconti Fund established volunteer Chapters in cities throughout the country. These Chapters are an important element to reaching The Miami Project’s goal — a cure for paralysis.
