One of the defining players of his generation, Chris Webber was named NBA Rookie of the Year in 1994 before going on to become a five-time NBA All-Star and five-time All-NBA Team selection. His standout career was recognized in 2021 with induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

On October 5, we’re proud to honor Chris at the 41st Annual Great Sports Legends Dinner in New York City, alongside an incredible group of sports icons united behind an even greater cause.

For more than four decades, this special evening has helped raise millions of dollars to fuel The Miami Project’s groundbreaking research and pursuit of a cure for paralysis.

At The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, our mission is to discover and deliver new treatments that improve lives today while continuing to pursue what has driven us from the very beginning: a cure for paralysis.

And in just a few weeks, our community will come together for our biggest fundraising event of the year — the 41st Annual Great Sports Legends Dinner on October 5 in New York City.

The legends, honorees and unforgettable moments make it a special evening. But the patients and families at the heart of our mission are the reason we gather year after year.

One of the most accomplished defensive players of his generation, Andruw Jones is an MLB Hall of Famer, five-time All-Star and 10-time Gold Glove Award winner. He also earned a Silver Slugger Award in 2005 and was a key member of the Atlanta Braves dynasty that helped define an era of baseball.

On October 5, we’re proud to honor Andruw at the 41st Annual Great Sports Legends Dinner in New York City, where legends across sports come together in support of The Buoniconti Fund and The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis.

Join us as we celebrate an extraordinary career while raising critical funds to advance research and treatments for paralysis and other neurological diseases and disorders.

Meet our 2026 Great Sports Legend: John Randle 🏈🏆 Meet our 2026 Great Sports Legend: John Randle 🏈🏆

Pro Football Hall of Famer. Seven-time Pro Bowler. Six-time First-Team All-Pro.

From entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent to becoming one of the most dominant defensive tackles in league history, John Randle built a remarkable 14-season career with the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks. He recorded 137.5 career sacks, posted eight consecutive double-digit sack seasons, led the NFL with 15.5 sacks in 1997, and earned a place on the NFL’s All-Decade Team of the 1990s.  

On October 5, we’ll honor John and an extraordinary class of sports icons at the 41st Annual Great Sports Legends Dinner. Since its inception, this special evening has united legendary athletes around an even greater goal: raising critical funds and awareness to advance research and treatments for paralysis and other neurological conditions.

Meet our 2026 Great Sports Legend: Misty May-Trean Meet our 2026 Great Sports Legend: Misty May-Treanor 🏐🥇

Three-time Olympic Gold Medalist. Three-time World Champion. International Volleyball Hall of Famer.

Misty May-Treanor is one of the most decorated and dominant players in beach volleyball history. Alongside Kerri Walsh Jennings, she captured three consecutive Olympic gold medals in 2004, 2008 and 2012, winning 21 straight Olympic matches and losing just one set across those three Games. She finished her legendary career with a then-record 112 tournament victories, including 43 international titles.  

This October, we’re proud to welcome Misty to the Great Sports Legends family as we celebrate the athletes whose achievements have left a lasting mark on their sports. The 41st Annual Great Sports Legends Dinner continues a tradition that has honored more than 400 sports legends and honorees while raising millions of dollars to advance The Miami Project’s mission to find a cure for paralysis.
