This Sunday will mark forty years since Marc Buoni This Sunday will mark forty years since Marc Buoniconti's life changed in an instant. One tackle, one breath, one moment that rewrote everything that would follow. Every October 26th, he wakes up remembering that moment and everything that came next. The fear. The uncertainty, and the question that would define the rest of his life. The answer became The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis and The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis. It began with a promise. One that Nick Buoniconti made beside Marc's hospital bed and one that neurosurgeon, Dr. Barth Green, turned into a mission. Together, they refused to accept “impossible.” It was love turned into action — from families, from doctors and scientists, and supporters, people who refused to let “hopeless” be the final word. We continue to move forward because there are still people waiting for their first steps and their first breath of independence. We keep moving forward because there are still discoveries to be made, clinical trials to be funded, and lives to be changed. Let’s move forward — together — and change lives.
