Thank you to Arturo Alvarez‑Buylla, Ph.D., for an outstanding Richard P. Bunge Memorial Lecture at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Hosted by the Neuroscience Program, this annual lecture series, named after late Miami Project Scientific Director Dr. Richard Bunge, featured Dr. Alvarez‑Buylla‘s groundbreaking work on adult neural stem cells and neurogenesis, reshaping how we understand the adult brain.

We are proud to share important news for SCI research. Congress has restored the Department of Defense’s Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program – Spinal Cord Injury Research and funded it at $33 million.

This action ensures a national commitment to research that will help restore function, independence, and hope for people living with paralysis, including injured service members and veterans.
