Faces of Paralysis: Richard
Around three years ago Richard was paralyzed as a result of a motorcycle accident on the way home that left him with a C-2 incomplete injury. He heard about The Miami Project when he needed another surgery to treat his initial injury. While in Miami he learned about the many research programs available to him and was happy to participate. Being in a harness in a walking study allows him a feeling of freedom he doesn’t have without it. His unique injury provides the opportunity for him to participate in a number of clinical studies that can benefit him and help our researchers answer questions about paralysis.
