The Philadelphia Chapter was established in 2004 by Sally and Steve Woolf, and is currently led by Volunteer Regional Directors Dan and Caren Jones. Philadelphia is the leading fundraising Chapter. The Chapter hosts a signature Raise a Glass for a Cure event, theme dinners, happy hours and Phillies baseball outings.
The ‘Raise a Glass for a Cure’ event has become a signature gala held each year in the Philadelphia area. Guests include philanthropists, community partners, local media and sports celebrities, and Chapter supporters and volunteers. Venues have included the Phillies Citizens Bank Park, Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum, National Museum of American Jewish History and Vie; and the party has featured sumptuous cuisine, cocktails, craft beer tasting, live and silent auction, live entertainment and prominent honorees.
In an effort to enhance the research efforts of the scientists at The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, The Buoniconti Fund established volunteer Chapters in cities throughout the country. These Chapters are an important element to reaching The Miami Project’s goal — a cure for paralysis.
